Description:

(a) 1 messuage with 2 crofts adjoining, containing 4 acs. of land, with their appurtenances in le Bottende of Wootton (situate and lying between land of the Prior and Convent of Newnham on the S. side and land of William Fouk on the N. side and abutting with one haedland towards the King's Highway ('versus Regiam viam') and with another headland towards the croft of William Fouk called le Brache) which she lately had by the gift and feoffment of William Fouk, Thomas Fouk, Thomas Palle junior, Thomas Rolle, John Porter and Richard Freeman.

 

Habendum: all the messuage with 2 crofts adjoining together with hedges, ditches, 'francbordes' (freeboards) and all other appurtenances to RT and Jr their heirs and assigns to be held etc.

 

Warranty clause by CT: standard ('contra omnes gentes').

 

Witnesses: John Glyce, John Bocher, John Browne et al.

 

Dated at Wootton, 20 Oct 34 Hen. VI (1455).

 

Dorse: inscribed '...Grant of a messuage and Two Crofts containing 4 acres at Bot End in Wootton'.
