Description:

Assignment by Thomas Cleyton to William, son of William West, and Roger Gregory of the premises in Barnby upon Don granted to him by John Blyth and Elizabeth, his wife, 22 February 8 Elizabeth; those in Quarmby granted to him by John Blyth, 11 August 28 Elizabeth; and those in Quarmby granted by John and Elizabeth to Susan Browne, 12 May 29 Elizabeth.

 

1 October 1594.

 

Indenture between William Blyth and William West by which the former grants to the latter (in consideration that a marriage shall take place between Thomas Blyth, son and heir of William, and Mary West, daughter of William West, within a year of the sixteenth birthday of Thomas) the manors of Quarnby and Barnby upon Don and other lands as security for the performance of covenants. 1 May 1594.

 

Indenture between William Blyth, late of Barnby upon Don, Garthred his wife, Anthony Blythe of Norton co. Derby, William West of Firbecke, Roger Gregorie, Edward Barckham, citizen and leatherseller of London, John Ferrar and Allein Elwyn, declaring that the object of a fine to be acknowledged to Henry Ferrar and Henry Emmes concerning lands in Barnby called 'Rounde Closes' and 'Huscrofte' held of the manor of Quarmby is that the premises are for the use of the said Elwyn and Barckham and the heirs of Barckham. 20 January 1597.

 

Undertaking of William West to be answerable for any incumbrance to the manors of Barnby and Quarmby about to be granted to Elwyn and Barckham by William Blyth until the levying of the fine. 20 January 1597.

 

Bond of Roger Gregory in connection with the proposed fine.

Undertaking of William Blyth to suffer a fine to be levied transferring the manors of Barnby and Quarmby to Ferrar and Aleyn.

Exemplification of a fine made in the octave of Candlemas between Henry Farrar and Henry Emms, querents, and William Blyth, Gertrude his wife, Anthony Blyth, William West, John Farrar, Roger Gregorie, Edward Barckham and Alan Elwyn, deforciants, concerning the manor of Quarmby and other lands etc. recording the grant of the same by William and Gertrude Blyth to Barckham and Elwyn and the warranties of the other parties.
