Inditements of the city of Chester in the 16th year of the reign of King Edward [1322-23]

 

Then they say that Robert le Dubber' and Richard son of William del Pek' stole five oxen of the Abbot of Chester and drove the said oxen by night to the house of Hugh de Aldford in St. John's lane in Chester... Hugh received the said Robert and Richard with the said stolen goods.

 

William cook of Alexander Hurel stole eleven fleece price half a mark from the house of William del Pol'. Robert le Dubber' received the said William with the said stolen property.

 

Richard del Pek' stole from a certain casket in the house of Henry Pistor' one silver mark.

 

Thomas de Chorleton' entered the house of Robert de Preres in Bridge Street and there broke his coffers and carried away cups, bowls and pieces of silver and silver spoons and other goods and chattels to the value... [obscured by repair] by stealth against the peace.

 

Henry son of Henry de Blakerod entered the house of Henry [?] Peter... and there furtively took and carried away silver price 5 shillings and 5 silver spoons and one ...

 

Then Alice de Wico and Alice Wyot are common [?] chargers of false money.

 

Richard Braz and John Fayrchild shepherds feloniously killed Richard le Plummer' servant of the parson of 'Swordes' [?in] Brewardeshaleg by night and stole there £20 of the money... of the parson and 2 horses of the parson price 10 marks.

 

Richard Daa was consenting and abetting to the doing of the said robbery and homicide and he had a hundred shillings and [? one horse] for his part and he sold the said horse at Assheburne.

 

John le Couper... with Walter Lok and Simon del Pas searched out or [werth] ap Ieuan of Haliwell' in... at a certain place this side of Haliwell and there robbed him of money which he received at... and for all he sold there and they had between them 18s of silver and they feloniously wounded him and against [?the peace].
