Description:

Whereby after reciting that in Easter term, 1711 one or more fines were levied in the Court of Common Pleas, the said Thomas Hammond and Mary Stamp, spinster (1), plaintiffs, and William and Mary Roper, John and Rose Marden (2), deforciants, and it was agreed that 36 acres called Pestod's or Pitney Wood situate in Harting and formerly occupied by Anthony Hollis, were to be enjoyed by the said Thomas Hammond and his administrators for the term of 1000 years. And reciting former leases of 32 acres in Donnington occupied by Edward Page for the yearly rent of £18. And reciting an indenture dated 10 April 1711 between William and Mary Roper (1), John and Rose Marden of Compton, Upmarden (2), Thomas Hammond (3), and Malry Stamp of Halnaker, Boxgrove (4), and further reciting that it was agreed that Thomas Hammond should transfer to Mary Roper and William Woodman the 4 fields of 36 acres in Harting.

 

By the present deed Thomas Hammond transfer to Mary Roper for 5s. the 4 fields in Harting for the term of 1000 years and also the said Mary Roper and William Woodman assign to Thomas Hammond all of the above premises in Donnington to hold for the same term.
