Administrative / biographical background:

East Quinton School in Eastbourne Road was a special school for day and residential pupils. It opened to receive boys on 11 September 1978. Girls were admitted from June 1981. Tower House was the girls boarding house; the boys boarded at the main school. The school closed down in March 1993 and was replaced by Cuckmere House School which opened on the same site on 1 April 1993
