Title: Part of Studdens Farm, purchased by RTDK Heal in 1963
Description:

On 6 Oct 1909 Studdens Farm (52.071a, plan), formerly copyhold of Herstmonceux manor which had been enfranchised on 4 Aug 1908, was sold by William Kemp to Joseph Errey. Errey died on 30 Jan 1916 and his will of 9 Feb 1910, bequeathing the profits to his wife Emily for life, was proved on 23 Mar 1916. Emily Errey died on 7 June 1918 and on 8 Oct 1919 the trustees, George Owen Crowhurst of Hailsham, wine and spirit merchant, and Joseph Thomas Simmons of Windmill Hill in Wartling, assistant overseer, conveyed Studdens to James Waltho of Stunts Green Farm, Herstmonceux, farmer, for £1200; Errey's son Joseph Clifford Errey had declined an option to purchase at valuation. By his will of 12 Feb 1946, Waltho appointed his son James Edward Waltho and son-in-law John Stewart Snatt executors, who proved the will on 7 July 1949. On 20 Aug 1959 Waltho's widow and the executors sold Studdens, with the exception of the farmhouse and drive (plan), and Lower Bemzells see AMS6116/5 to Cecil Richard Glyde of Lower Bemzells Farm, Herstmonceux, farmer, for £2,750 (2/1)

On 11 July 1963 Glyde, now of Studdens Farm, sold nine fields (38.827a, plan), forming the northern part of Studdens Farm, to RJDK Heal for £4,800 (2/2, 3)
