Plaintiff: Ralph de Burgo; Beatrice, wife of Ralph de Burgo; William son of Richard Deforciant: Matilda of Bocking In the king's court at Westminster before Thomas de Moleton, Adam son of William, William de Culewird, justices, and others, on 6 Oct 1236. Matilda acknowledged through Adam, her son and attorney, that 1 virgate of land in Bocking vill is the right of William son of Richard. The plaintiffs grant the land to Matilda during her lifetime, with reversion to the said William, in return for 6 acres of land lying on the north side of 'Hegfeld' for William's maintenance. Conditions of tenure specified. She has rights of housebote and haybote. The concord was recorded in the priory's court of Bocking, and Henry of Bocking, Ralph de Burgo, Beatrice and Matilda undertook that the terms be kept. Part of indenture given to Ralph and Beatrice. Witnesses: Martin, rector of 'Riseb'g'; Rayner de Bungher; Peter de Brumford; Godfrey de Liston; Roger of Braintree Endorsed with contemporary description. Plaintiffs given as Beatrice of Bovington and William her son.
