Catalogue description The original gateway to Canterbury College, founded in 1363 by Archbishop Islip, as it stood in 1775. Between 1773 and 1783, Wyatt built Christ Church's Canterbury Quad on the site, replacing the gateway with a monumental Roman Doric-style gate.
