Concerning military manoeuvres with the Ripon squadron. He reports, "The Ripon is in great strength, almost every man here, and beautifully mounted, and so clean and soldier like and so proud of themselves. They are beyond question the finest part of the regiment in every point". Mentions informing Harry of the contents of Sir William Knighton's letter.
