The Bristol Teachers' Consultative Committee was set up in about 1940-41 to act as a link between the Bristol Education Committee and various teachers' organizations in Bristol. The Constitution names the following organizations as having representatives on the B.T.C.C.: The National Union of Teachers The National Union of Women Teachers The National Association of Head Teachers The National Association of Schoolmasters The National Federation of Class Teachers and The Bristol Joint Committee of the Four Secondary Associations. It was resolved on 5 March 1974 that the minutes and correspondence of the B.T.C.C. be lodged in the City Archives Office as the B.T.C.C. dissolved itself when the County of Avon became responsible for education services on 1 April 1974. |
