[10] As the highway from Denstead gate to the top of the hill there is in great decay and ought to be repaired by the inhabitants of Chartham, Harbledown and Boughton-under-Blean; Chartham and Harbledown, on pain of £5, are to do their six days statute labour before Whitsuntide next and as for the question as to whether the inhabitants of Boughton are to work there, as they did not do eight days work at Boughton Hill as they were instructed to do on pain of £5, if they do not do this eight days work before Whitsuntide next on the road from Densted gate to the hill top then the £5 penalty to be levied.

 

[11] As the court has been told that Michael Barbor of Elham, miller, is a common fighter and brawler and disobedient to the justices' warrant, an attachment to be awarded against him to bind him over for good behaviour.

 

[12] According to an order made at the last session at Canterbury, Sir Anthony Dering and Sir Nicholas Tufton have certified to this session that they have called before them Walter Tayler of Hothfield, clothier, the reputed father and Rabedge Serle the mother of a base born child and have ordered that Rabedge shall nurse and bring up the child, Walter paying her 7d. a week from the time of the birth of the child until it is old enough to earn its own living.
