Between (1) Rev Ashburnham Philip Toll Newman, Prebendary of Ampleforth and (2) Thomas Haxby, musical instrument maker of York and John Smith, gentleman of Melton, Yorks of a lease for 40 years of a messuage in Stonegate being parcel of the Mansion House belonging to the Prebend adjoining south premises now or late in the occupation of Henry Stephenson, staymaker and John Staveley, carver and gilder, north upon premises occupied by Robert Parkinson and also upon premises occupied by William Spencer, Doctor of Physic and Rev Jonas Thompson, west upon premises occupied by Robert Thornton gentleman and on the east fronting Stonegate at the annual rent of £1.13s.4d.
