Wookey Hole Paper Mills built by Wm. S. Hodgkinson of London Wholesale Stationer, on the site of two old paper mills, Stock Mill, Hole Ground and adjoining premises, all purchased by Hodgkinson, 1853-1856. The premises were mortgaged several times. 1867 mortgage includes the plant machinery (with schedule) and a plan of the premises. 1872 mortgage refers to the school built by Hodgkinson. The mortgage was redeemed in 1880 and the premises assigned to Thomas and Guy Hodgkinson in a deed of 1883 (with plan). Thomas bought Guy's share and mortgaged the whole in 1909 (with separate schedule and plan). This was finally redeemed in 1946. 1958 agreement with Wells R.D.C. for laying drainage pipes.
