A collection of about 350 documents which came into the ownership of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society in 1946. Provenance unknown, but the Accession Book mentions George Hudson 'the Railway King' as a probable previous owner. They may previously have been muniments of the Londesborough estate, which belonged to the following families: Up to 1389 Fitzherbert family 1389 - 1469 Broomfleet family 1469 - 1643 Clifford family 1643 - 1753 Boyle family, Earls of Burlington 1845 Bought by George Hudson to deny it to the Manchester & Leeds Rly. Co. 1850 Bought by Lord Albert Dennison 1923 Bought by Mr. & Mrs. Lupton Booth 2nd World War Hall occupied by the British Army. 1947 Bought by Dr. & Mrs. Ashwin (Ref: Neave D.
