Description:

Gift by [the Rev.] William Damson, "rector of Thoresby in the County of Karliol" [Thursby in Cumberland], to John Morland(e), citizen and mercer of Carlisle: a parcel of land within the south part of his tenement in Fishergate in Carlisle towards the middle of his tenement, lying on the east side of the street, between John Morlande's tenement (formerly [the Rev.] John Carrothyrs's, vicar of Irthington) on the south, wherein Morland now dwells, and between the said William Damson's tenement on the north; which parcel measures 17½ rods in frontage between Morland's and Dawson's and in breadth eastwards 2¾ rods, thence 9¾ rods length; and the remaining width being ½ rod long towards the west, thence 7¾ rods length; which plot William acquired freehold from William del More of Carlisle mercer; witnesses include several mercers and drapers.
