Title: Andrew Whyte Barclay. Notes on Dr. Bakewills' Report, stating he did not know whether the paper by Dr. Buchanan was meant as an outline of the reply by RCP to Colonial Office
Description:

That he thought it undesirable to send such a reply; that it would be undignified for RCP to enter into controversy with Dr. Bakewill and should merely state he had failed to establish his proposition, but that Dr. Buchanans statistics could be used in their reply if necessary; stating that he hoped the College would not pronounce an ex-Cathedra opinion that pure vaccine lymph could not convey syphilitic and leprous viruses; they could not not be conveyed from a child who had no seeds of either, and that Dr. Bakewill as Director of Vaccination should impress on all who acted under him the necessity of insuring that not only the child from whom lymph was taken, but also its parents, were healthy.
