About 6 years ago her now husband came to Stoke Damerel and rented a room from Mrs Martin, a widow at 2s 6d a week, he married her, Martha Adams and they lived in the room for 2 years, then he rented 2 rooms from Roger Bully being part of a house he rented from Mr Richard Gayer for £9 for 2 ½ years, then made a fresh agreement for 3 rooms at £6, rents had fallen, then he agreed for a house at £9 from one Howell but never took possession, 7 or 8 weeks ago her husband returned from visiting his friends in Exeter "quite out of his senses" and still is, he has to be confined to stop him doing mischief to himself or another person |
