Administrative / biographical background: |
Marie O'Beirne was born in Edinburgh in 1848, the daughter of a journalist. She came to Liverpool as an actress to play at the Alexandra Theatre and married its manager, Edward Saker, also of Edinburgh, in 1874. After Saker's death in 1883, she continued the management of the theatre but retired in 1888. She died in 1912, leaving five children. |
