Catalogue description PLATT, Thomas Pell. Appointed as a J.P. August, 1832; also in the Commission of the Peace for Westminster; never in any profession, business or trade; usually acts in the Holborn Division of the Hundred of Ossulston, Middlesex and at Hampstead. Platt makes the latter distinction by observing "I make this distinction, because all the parishes in the Division, except Hampstead, are included in the District of the Metropolitan Police Offices, & meetings of justices of the Division are only for the purposes specified 3 Will 4.Cap.19 S 12. But in the parish of Hampstead I act without those restrictions, in common with the other magistrates who reside in the parish" - "Mr. Richards, Sessions House, Clerkenwell, is Clerk to the Magistrates of the Holborn Division". Residence of Mr. Platt is at Childs Hill, Hampstead.
