Her family background. Her father's kindness to the unfortunate. As a young woman, Mrs Coleman was a dispenser in Bath, and being brought up in a political family naturally was attracted by the NUWSS. How she systematically spread NUWSS propaganda when appointed itinerant lecturer. Trouble caused to the women's suffrage campaign by the militants. Difficulty of getting accommodation when moving to a new place. Mrs C's education. Touring England with Charles Roden Buxton for the Peace by Negotiation Group in First World War. Her admiration for Buxton. Then teaching speech and drama in Rhodesia, returning to England just before UDI for family reasons. Admiration for her mother, a nonconformist and a fighter. Death of her father. How her mother coped. Her interest in theosophy and vegetarianism. Working with ED Morel in the UDC but her tendency to leave organisations soon after joining them. The North easier to work, as a NUWSS organiser, than some other places. Wales easy too, due to strong male support for suffragism. The 1913 Pilgrimage in Cornwall. Suffragist concern for respectable appearance in the lecturer. (Continues onto tape 66).
