Administrative / biographical background:

Kingsholm C. of E. School opened in 1963 as a Junior School, and replaced four previous church schools: St. Michael's and London Road National Schools (which closed in 1962), and St. Mark's and St. Catherines Schools [which remained open as infants schools until 1973]. In 1973 an infants department was added to Kingsholm school and those of St. Catherine's and St. Mark's closed.
