Award, 15 May 1620 (1) John Fleming, of Coniston, co. Lancaster, esq., and his tenants Myles Fleming, Richard Harrisone, William Towers, William Sawrey, Henry Sawrey, Adam Walker, William Tomlinson, John Clarke and George Rigg. (2) Daniel Heckstetter, of Keswick, Cumberland, one of His Majesty's miners. Terms: In consideration of the destruction and wasting of meadows and cornlands of (1) by the "Stamphowse" on Coniston Fell, an award to John Fleming of fifty trusses of hay yearly in a place called the "Falesteads", and other awards to the other tenants for destruction of grasslands by the pollution of watercourses with copper ore in Danielwray, Longridding, Loynes and Abbotshole. Arbitrators: Reginald Walker, Edward Markets, Roger Dodgeson, Henry Kirkbie, Christopher Rigge and Christopher Holme. |
