This collection consists of papers relating to the administration of the trusts created under the will of John Tomlinson including correspondence between George Tomlinson of Middlesbrough and Thomas Turnbull of the Whitehall Shipyard, Whitby relating to investment of the trust funds 1870-1875; correspondence between Gray and Pannett, Solicitors, of Whitby and John Robert Tomlinson of Middlesbrough, concerning the final settlement of the trust 1894.
