Title: Belmont Phillipps Collection
Description:

A group of personal and estate papers and notes on local history and genealogy, originally from the library of the family of Phillipps of Longworth, previously of Huntington, Eaton Bishop and Madley, etc., co of Hereford. The greater part of the collection belongs to the late 18th and 19th centuries and is associated with the names of two members of the family, namely, Robert Phillipps (1749-1822), barrister-at-law, M.P., 1784, Mayor 1797, and deputy steward, 1800 of the city of Hereford, and especially his eldest son Robert Biddulph Phillipps (1798-1864), barrister-at-law, high sheriff of co. Hereford, 1838.
