Will of Richard Pedder of Preston, merchant -- household goods to wife Jennet, also named closes in Preston for life, as well as the house of son Edward on S of the Fryer-Gate; after her death these to son Edward, together with Abbots in Ribbleton, a pew on S of S aisle of Preston church, a burgage on N of the Fryergate called the Holy Lamb, Bellfounders Field in Preston, close called the Conduit on S of Mawdlands Lane, pew on N of N aisle of Preston church. To son Thomas 5 burgages on N of Fryergate near the Brown Channell, also warehouse and houses in St. Johns Wiend, close called the Crown near Sandy Lane, burgage at bottom of Fryergate near the pinfold called Pinfold House, shares in the common Mawdlands, houses on S of Spittles Moss, half of close on N of Mawdlands Lane, large pew on N of middle aisle of Preston chapel and pew in S gallery of the church. To son James the Oxheys in Preston, the Round Meadow on SE of Broadgate Lane, parcel adjoining E to the aforesaid and W to the Common Fields, and messuage in Walton. To 3 sons during life of daughter Grace wife of John Derbyshire of Preston, grocer, closes at Avenham and messuages on E of St. Johns Lane and on N of the Church Gate, lesser pew on N of middle aisle of Preston Chapel, in trust for G.D. and her issue.
