Among other things, confirms the articles of agreement made between himself and his father-in-law, Joseph Martyn of London, whereby each of them agreed to pay £5,000 to his daughter, Dorothea Fellowes, upon her marriage, and £30,000 to trustees to purchase lands of inheritance to be settled so that his wife, Mary Fellowes, should have £1,000 p.a., after his death, in full satisfaction of her dower, and after his death, the use of the rest of the land should fall to his edlest son, Coulson Fellowes, and his heirs male. To his wife, Mary, her seperate estates, her jewels and all household goods etc., in his house in Lincolns Inn Fields. To his four youngest children, Dorothea, Mary, Martyn and William Fellowes, various stocks. To his sister, Ann Mordaunt, widow, his brother, Edward Fellowes, and his cousin, Ann Tarlton, pecuniary legacies. To his brother, Sir John Fellowes Baronet, (but only if his own 3 sons should die without male issue) the reversion and remainder of the lands he has purchased. To the poor of the united parishes of St.Michael Royal and St.Martins Vintry, London, £5. To his eldest son, Coulson Fellowes, his house at Hampstead for the remainder of the term of years and the residue of his estate. Expresses a wish to be buried in the parish church of Eggesford. Appoints his son, Coulson, and his brothers, John and Edward, executors. In a Codicil, he notes that he has purchased manors, lands etc. in Devon and Somerset. these are to be limited to the uses contained in the above Articles of Agreement. |
