Administrative / biographical background:

The British Publishing Company was formed c.1920 by a number of local publishing interests. Throughout its 60 year history it has been associated with a major project for the publication of church history guides, and at one time it had over 600 titles in print in this series. The company is now concerned mainly with the publication of official guidebooks for local authorities. The collection listed below consists of specimens of the company's work, and reflects their two areas of activity.
