6 items. Photographically reduced letters, found in envelope marked: 'Communications from Gordon' and [in another hand] 'Abdel Kadi el Sourieri Effundi Con Mudir of Dougola'

The letters, written between Jan & Jun 1884 are not all complete, and partly illegible. At least 4 appear to be addressed to Frank Power, Correspondent of the "Times" who was murdered on his return from Khartoum. [The Mudir of Dougola (native Governor of Dougola) apparantly received information from Gordon on 23 June, reporting that Khartoum was still holding out and asking about the expedition from Cairo.

Abdel-Kader- Egyptian Minister of War, previously Gov Gen of Sudan.]

Photographic enlargements of these letters have been made by King's College.
