NS&I is a state-owned savings bank and an Executive Agency of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, accountable to HM Treasury. It is one of the UK's largest providers of savings products to personal savers and investors, including Premium Bonds. The main aim of NS&I is to attract funds from individual savers in the UK for the purposes of funding the government's public sector borrowing requirement.
