Date: 1857-1863
History: In 1857 the Gold Coast Corps were converted into an artillery corps, and designated the 'Gold Coast Artillery Corps'. 1857-1863: Gold Coast Artillery Corps. In 1863, the Gold Coast Artillery Corps was disbanded in consequence of mutiny and the officers transferred to the 5th West India Regiment.
