Date: 1957-1976
History: In 1957 the Radar Research Establishment was renamed the Royal Radar Establishment. In 1959 control of the establishment passed from the Ministry of Supply to the Ministry of Aviation. When the Ministry of Aviation was abolished in February 1967 responsibility for the establishment was passed to the Ministry of Technology, in 1970 it was passed to the Ministry of Aviation Supply and in 1971 to the Ministry of Defence. In 1976 the Royal Radar Establishment was dissolved with some of its responsibilities passing to the Royal Aircraft Establishment and others to the newly formed Royal Signals and Radar Establishment.
