History: | In 1940 the Air Ministry Research Establishment was renamed the Telecommunication Research Establishment. In 1946 responsibility for it was passed from the Air Ministry to the Ministry of Supply. In 1953 it merged with the Radar Research and Development Establishment to form the Radar Research Establishment. |
