Date: 1991-
History: Publisher for Parliament and the UK Government. In 1991, Her Majesty's Stationery Office became formally known as HMSO. A continuing trend towards commercial concerns led ultimately to privatisation and in 1996 the publishing arm of HMSO was privatised as a separate company known as The Stationery Office (TSO) with HMSO continuing as a separate part of the Cabinet Office. From 2005, HMSO operated from within the expanded remit of the new Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI).
