Date: 1786-1970
History: Created in by an Order in Council of 23 August 1786 to replace Privy Council Committee on Trade and Plantations. Became concerned with all aspects of trade until merged on 20 October 1970 with the Ministry of Technology to form the first Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
