Date: 1973-1988
History: Established in 1973 as an autonomous body, replacing the National Council for Educational Technology. Responsible for promoting and developing research in educational technology. In 1988 the Council amalgamated with the Microelectronic Education Support Unit (MESU), established in 1986, and again assumed the title of the National Council for Educational Technology.
