History:	The 'Young Pretender: Charles Edward Stuart (the Young Chevalier, or 'Bonnie Prince Charlie'); son of James Francis Edward (the Old Pretender) and grandson of the exiled Roman Catholic king James II. Last serious Stuart claimant to the British throne and leader of the unsuccessful Jacobite rebellion of 1745–46, after which he escaped by ship to France and finally settled in Italy.
