Saxon major general, ambassador of the elector of Saxony/king of Poland to The Hague and to the peace negotiations in Utrecht, 1712, 1713. Entered imperial service 1717. Ambassador to Berlin 1726. Field marshal and commander against Turks 1737. Joined Bavarian army 1741. Diplomatic activity in Berlin and Dresden 1742. Recovered most of Bavaria 1744. Negotiated peace between Bavaria and Austria 1745.
