History: Created First Earl of Beaconsfield in 1876. Twice Prime Minister (Conservative): Feb-Dec 1868 and Feb 1874-Apr 1880. Chancellor of the Exchequer, 1852, 1858-1859 and 1866-1868. Responsible for purchasing the Khedive's shares in the Suez Canal for Britain.
