History: | Spillers Ltd. was established in 1833 in Bridgwater, Somerset. In 1896 the company purchased the former Davidson's Phoenix Mill in the Close, Newcastle. This was replaced in 1936 by the new Tyne Mills on Newcastle Quayside, which was the largest flour mill in Europe at the time. The mill was extended in the 1960s, and production continued until 2007. |
