History: | Originally formed in 1903 as Newcastle Jewish Literary Society, but ceased to function on the outbreak of the First World War. Reformed 1923 but again terminated 1938. The Society reformed again in 1944. A Dramatic Section was formed in 1948 and later renamed Newcastle Jewish Players. |
