History: | This shipyard was established by Sir John Priestman in 1882 at Southwick. Priestman had previously served his apprenticeship in the shipyard of John Blumer and been employed as Chief Draughtsman by William Pickersgill and Sons. The yard closed in 1933 although it was re-opened during the Second World War by Pickersgills for use as their West Yard. |
