History: Winifred House Invalid Chidren's Convalescent Home (Mrs Hampson's memorial Home) was founded in 1891. It was located on Wray Crescent, Tollington Park, London N4. The Home was "intended for Invalid Children who are recovering from disease after treatment or at home, and who need careful nursing, under medical supervision, wholesome food and fresh air, in order to complete their restoration to health".

The Home was moved in 1937 to the Zachery Merton Convalescent Hospital Home for Children at Barnet Gate, Arkley, Barnet in Hertfordshire. Children first moved there on 30 September, and it was officially opened on 28 October by Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. After the introduction of the National Health Service in 1948 it was managed by the Barnet Group No. 5 Hospital Management Committee in the North West Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board. during the 1950s it had 40 beds for tyoung patients. In 1974 It was in the Edgware/Hendon District Health Authority in the North West Thames Regional Health Authority, becoming part of Barnet District health Authority in 1982. In 1992 it became part of Barnet Healthcare NHS Trust. The Home finally closed in 1999.
