Closure periods: Christmas/New Year, Easter, St Giles Fair, Bank Holidays during University of Oxford vacations and at other times which will be noted on the Library's website

  • Please email in advance of your visit, giving details of the collection(s) you wish to consult, so that they can make sure the items are ready when you arrive
  • Disabled access: Their reading room is on the first floor with no lift access, but they are happy to arrange an alternative space
  • Access requirements: New readers are required to fill in the online registration form and show either a valid Bodleian reader card or photo ID such as a passport or driving licence

  • Reprographics: While Covid-19 remains an ongoing concern, they are happy to provide free scans or photographs for private research purposes (copyright permitting). For image publication rights there is a charge
