There are no title deeds or surveys for Bachelors, though it does appear in the Appuldurcombe survey of 1774, JER/HBY/33/36 and 45, under "Week Manor, parish of Newchurch". Anciently it probably formed part of the 100 solidates of land in the manor of Wroxall that Richard de Redvers gave to the Norman abbey of Montebourg about 1180. See Montebourg Cartulary No. 675 (Paris, Bibliotheque Nationale, Latin 10087).

There is only one sub-lease for Bachelors, one of the leaseholds acquired by Robert Worsley of Pidford from the Appuldurcombe estate. The farm lay about 1/2 mile north of Whitely Bank, near the Newchurch/Godshill parish boundary.
