Records in this series have been arranged as follows
Charlotte Beaty's Almshouse (A/FWA/C/K/01); Esther Doe's Almshouses (A/FWA/C/K/02); Dovedale Almshouses Trust (A/FWA/C/K/03); Josiah Forster's Trust (A/FWA/C/K/04); Gillingham Almshouses (A/FWA/C/K/05); Hopton's Charity (A/FWA/C/K/06); Mary Overand Charity (A/FWA/C/K/07); Penn and Widow Smith Almshouses (A/FWA/C/K/08); Pilgrim's Lodge Trust (A/FWA/C/K/09); Miss Tate's Almshouses (A/FWA/C/K/10).
These records were deposited at the LMA in February 1997. They were collected by the Family Welfare Association's Almshouses Department which acts either as corporate trustee or provides the clerk, to existing trustees of several almshouse charities. All the trustees bodies come together in the FWA's Almshouses Committee. The records have been divided into the separate almshouse charities. Several of the almshouses have had records previously deposited at the LMA as part of the FWA archive, details of which can be found in A/FWA/C/J15 to J19. The following list highlights continuations of pieces already deposited by the FWA.
