Property as in recitals (ii) to (x) all in West Dean and Binderton. Gives field names, occupiers and abuttals

 

Recites: (i)Add Mss 5858; (ii) 15,16 May 1772, whereby Charles Barrow, esq., and William Lane, gent., both of Gloucester, with the consent of John Guise of Higham Court, co. Glos., & w. Elizabeth, convey to (a) Crowshole Farm, etc., in Binderton; (iii) 29 Sept. 1780, surrender, by Thomas and Elizabeth Good and their children names given into the hands of (a), Lord of the Manor of Westdean, of messuage and 4 cotlands and 9a. boardland, also one messuage and 2 cotlands (4a.) and one stitch of land, one cottage, garden and 3 stitches of land, 3 crofts of land, 2 crofts of boardland, and 7a. of boardland in West Dean; (iv) 29 Sept. 1780, surrender by Thomas Outon of Chichester, wheelwright, William Mant of West Dean, cooper, William Collins and Elizabeth his w. to (a), Lord of the Manor, of one messuage and 2 yardlands, also toft of one messuage and one cotland and one stitch of land in West Dean; (v) 27 May 1782, surrender by Ann Pricklow, wid., John Pricklow and Aaron Darby and Ann his w., to (a),Lord of the Manor, one malthouse, one garden and stitch of land called Heywards, otherwise called one messuage and three cottages in West Dean; (vi) 27th May 1782, surrender by Ann Pricklow, wid., and Aaron Darby and Ann his w. to (a), Lord of the Manor, of one messuage, one cotland and one stitch of land in West Dean (adjoining W. end of Berrylands); (vii) 27 May 1782, surrender by Ann Pricklow, wid., and John Pricklow to (a), Lord of the Manor, of one acre called Haynes; (viii) 10 Feb. 1789, surrender by John Pricklow to (a), Lord of the Manor, of one cottage and garden and one stitch of land, parcel of cottage called Tapps (adjoining the S. of a Public House called White Hart) in West Dean; (ix) 14 Oct. 1789, surrender by Ann Whitter, wid., her son William Whitter, and William Ayling, yeo., to (a), Lord of the Manor, of one cottage, barn, garden, and gateroom called Aylwins in West Dean, and 3 yardlands called Bearhouse land; (x) Add Mss 5863. Properties in (ii) to (x) purchased with residue of personal estate of James Peachey. Conveyance from (a) and (b) to (c) in trust, subject to terms of (i), to the use of (a) and (b) for life. Covenants concerning leasing of the properties by (a) and (b) and investment of monies arising from any possible sale of part or all properties
