Description:

Asking him to state to whom he paid his rent at Lady Day 1625 and what place, whether Newport or Titchfield and the copy of the acquittance and whether it was not at that time that Styant brought you word from Mr. Bromfield that it was your best and safest way to pay it to him and not to me.

 

William Reve's answer that Mr. Styant had instructed him to pay his rent to Mr. Bromfield and not to Sir John Oglander "for if I did I should pay it again" with the receipt for £130 for half years rent of farm of Buckham.

 

Endorsed by Sir John Oglander:

 

"This noat shewith that the £100 due from Reves at Lady Day 1625 was not incerted in Bromfields bond, for the bond was made in March and that rent not paid to Bromfild till 21 of April following".
