Application and appeal by Samuel Hoblyn of Perranzabuloe, esq., against Constantine Bradford and William Henwood, churchwardens, and John Hoskin, esq., and Thomas Bradford, overseers of Cubert, concerning a warrant of distress on the goods of the said Samuel Hoblyn, for raising £10, following his refusal to receive and provide for George Perry, a poor apprentice: appeal dismissed for irregularity, and costs awarded to Cubert.

Application of Thomas Michell, esq., John Trevenen, esq., and John Edwards, merchant, on behalf of the Cornish Copper Co. trading at Hayle, to make an additional arch for St Erth bridge, and cut proper levels and conveniences, above and below the bridge, to carry off all water. (Application originally made at Lostwithiel sessions, 16 Jan. 1783. At Truro sessions, 1 May 1783, following report of inspection made by John Truscott, Surveyor (west), a majority of the justices agreed to the application, provided that the county was indemnified from all costs.) Application now granted, and articles to be drawn up between the applicants and Samuel Hext, gent., Clerk of the Peace and County Treasurer, fully indemnifying the county.

Application of Lesnewth concerning John Bettenson, gent., who has gone away from his abode at Grylls, leaving his wife, Ann, and children, William, Ann, Mary, John and George chargeable to the parish, which has, under a warranted dated 11 Sep. 1783, already seized goods to the value of £16 12s. and annual rents from lands belonging to Bettenson, to meet the costs of providing for his wife and children: warrant confirmed; annual rent of all lands belonging to Bettenson in Lesnewth to be paid to the parish officers; they are to give Ann Bettenson one guinea a week to support herself and her children, and present accounts of receipts and disbursements at next session.
