For deeds of 1703 relating to this property, see nos. 1481, 1482. No. 1165 is an office copy of the will (proved 1771) of Richard Ayling of Stedham, which also devises leasehold messuage, farms and lands called Palfrymans and Higate in Kirdford and Petworth, and the tithes arising from that part in Kirdford, three fields in Woolbeding called Broock Land, messuage and half a yardland called Red Farm (Redford) (held of the manor of Woolbeding), freehold messuage, farm and lands in Hawkley (co. Hants), and freehold messuage, farm and lands in Stedham. No. 1168 is a copy of the will (proved 1822) of Elizabeth Ayling of Midhurst, which also devises freehold messuages, farm and lands called Rundwick in Kirdford and unspecified leasehold messuage in Midhurst [see no. 1157].
