Roger Parr of Washington, husbandman, was admitted to property I, 5 Nov. 1734, on the surrender by Henry Limbris (no. WISTON/3354), and Mary Parr, his widow, was admitted, 19 Oct. 1742 (no. WISTON/3355). Elizabeth, wife of John Cooles and youngest dau. of said Roger Parr, mortgaged both properties, 24 June 1754, to Henry Elliot of Littlehampton, husbandman (no. WISTON/3356), and 10 Jan. 1759, to Roger Holmes of Findon, gardener (no. WISTON/3357). John French and Elizabeth, his wife (née Parr), surrendered property II, 14 April 1770, to William Ayling of Washington, farmer, who was admitted the same day (no. WISTON/3358). There are no more documents till the surrender, 20 Sept. 1786, by Richard Penfold of Washington, farmer, to Charles Goring of Wiston, esq., of property II with other premises, formerly Hamper's, late Michael's, property called Marsh Lands and Wilmott's, and cottages called the West Garden and Bowyer's, all in Washington (no. WISTON/3359). There is an undated 'account of Penfold's land' (no. WISTON/3360), a promissory note, 22 Sept. 1786, from Charles Goring to Peter Penfold (brother of said Richard Penfold) (no. WISTON/3361), instructions, 6 Oct. 1786, from Charles Goring to Messrs. Child & Co., his bankers (no. WISTON/3362) and a receipt 6 Oct. 1786, from Richard Penfold to Charles Goring for £750, the consideration money for the sale of his copyhold estates (no. WISTON/3363). The said Charles Goring was admitted to property I, 17 Dec. 1801, on the surrender by James Figg of Dulwich, co. Surrey, carpenter, and there is a bill of costs and manorial fees (nos. WISTON/3364, WISTON/3365).
